Ben's hat.

One of the few gifts that I knit this year for Christmas was this hat for my 16-year-old nephew. I saw him in October and we talked about what style hat he would like and what colors. I liked how it turned out and was hoping that he would, too...I also was hoping that it would fit, which it did.

Felted clogs

I have had the Fiber Trends Felted Clog pattern for YEARS. Finally, now that my daughter needs the largest size in the pattern, I got around to making them. They're a bit big, but that was planned, as the other slippers fit her really well right now.

Felted slippers

I just made these felted slippers for my daughter. I will DEFINITELY be making more. They're so quick and easy. The origami-like folding and sewing at the end isn't hard once you watch the video WITH the knitted piece in hand. I watched the video before I did the knitting and was completely lost. Here's a link to the pattern: Easy House Slippers

I used Paton's Classic Wool and a size 10 needle as I couldn't find any size 9...

Here they are after knitting, but before folding and sewing.

After folding and sewing...ready to be felted.

Next to the intended wearer's foot.

After felting. I've never had this yarn be so shaggy after felting. I was going to shave the slippers, but my daughter LOVES them like this.

I was worried that they were too small, but they are PERFECT!

Botanic Hat

I just finished this hat. I made it for myself, but had my daughter wear it for the photos. She's trying to claim it for herself...

It's the Botanic Hat pattern by Stephen West. I used Malabrigo and Cascade 220.

A sad, neglected blog...WITH NEW PICS!!

This is a lonely blog. I neglect it. It's not that I haven't been knitting, I have. Though there was a stretch this summer where I was in a bit of a slump. I just haven't been remembering to post photos/info here. Let's change that.

I recently finished some socks for myself and I LOVE them. I used Berroco Sox yarn. If you have big feet, this is great. I usually can't make my socks as tall as I'd like (or have to buy extra yarn) and these are taller than most that I knit.

Yesterday I realized that it was a friend's birthday. She & her husband were going to be where I live today, playing a show, so I decided to make something for her. Here's what I came up with:

It was an outdoor gig on a chilly afternoon/evening, so she was very grateful!
